Hotel Monterey Osaka cuts a grand and distinctive figure amid the tower blocks of Umeda. The exterior resembles a magnificent European palace, with one notable quirk. Projecting out from the eighth floor of the building’s facade is a small chapel, which is a perfect copy of a medieval church in Belgium.

The unusual facade of the Hotel Monterey Osaka
The interior of the building is designed to resemble that of the Schönbrunn Palace of Vienna, with a quiet outside courtyard, and rooms furnished with portraits, chandeliers, and stately furniture. Everything is intended to make guests feel like they have entered another world. That together with the professional and courteous service of the hotel staff make this a very pleasant and restful retreat amidst the hurly-burly of central Osaka.
