Osaka Station Lockers and Luggage Storage

If you need to store your luggage at Osaka Station, you should have no problem. There are lockers at many locations, but mostly they are located close by the ticket gates. They come in a range of sizes at fees of 300, 500 and 700 yen, and most of the lockers will give you change for a 1000 yen note. If your luggage is too bulky for a locker then you can leave it at the baggage room which is close by the 1st Floor Central Concourse.

In this article we will show you where to find lockers in Osaka Station, show you how to use them, and give you more details about the baggage room.

Where to Find Lockers in Osaka Station

Lockers are located on the 1st and 3rd floors of the Osaka Station building. Please refer to the Osaka Station Map page to follow these directions.

Lockers by the Central Concourse

The greatest number of lockers are located close by the Central Concourse. If you walk directly across from the Central Ticket Gates, you should see a big green sign for the ticket office and a passage that runs alongside it. Go straight ahead through that passage. The lockers are located directly across from the ticket gates and behind the ticket office.

The lockers are around a corner just across from the Lucua shopping center.

Lockers in a Secret Location

These lockers are quite hard to find, their location is rather inconvenient, and they are not on any map. Because of this, there are always a lot of empty lockers here. They are located across from the JR Bus Terminal directly underneath the walkway that leads to the Grand Front Osaka shopping complex.

Almost all the lockers in Osaka Station use a fully automated keyless system with a central control panel for each bank of lockers. These are actually quite easy to use as you can select your language on the control panel’s touch screen and then read a series of step-by-step instructions.

The lockers at the JR Bus Terminal and the lockers under the Grand Front Osaka walkway, do not have this system. These lockers use old fashioned keys. Simply put your coins into the coin slot on your locker, turn the key and remember to keep the key with you.
