Hotel Vischio Osaka

Hotel Vischio Osaka-JR Hotel Group opened in June 2018 in the Umeda district as a boutique business hotel. This hotel has friendly, welcoming staff, spacious rooms stocked with all the essential amenities, and excellent dining facilities. The location of Hotel Vischio Osaka is also highly convenient for public transport and Umeda’s best shopping and entertainment facilities.

The hotel’s name “vischio” means “mistletoe” in Italian, an evergreen plant that is a popular symbol of peace and friendship. The hotel designers have tried to create a refreshing green space by planting trees and shrubs outside the hotel entrance. The natural imagery continues inside the hotel with an interior garden, pendant lighting designed to resemble mistletoe, artwork with images of trees, and wavelike patterns in the lobby ceiling.

Guest Rooms

Guest rooms have single, twin, or double beds. All beds have Simmons brand bedding which is renowned for its thick, comfortable mattresses. All guest rooms are supplied with air conditioning, heating, a refrigerator, a 40 inch TV with satellite channels and a video-on-demand service, a desk, a combined humidifier and air purifier, an electric kettle, an alarm clock, a hair dryer, clothes hangers, a bath robe, slippers, a baggage rack, mineral water, and a safety deposit box. Black tea, green tea, instant coffee, sugar and powdered milk are all available for free.

Bathrooms have bathtubs and rain showers and are supplied with shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbrushes, a hairbrush and comb, cotton buds and a full set of towels.

All guest rooms are also supplied with a “Handy” smartphone which has multilingual settings. Guests can use this smartphone freely throughout their stay, both inside and outside the hotel. The Handy can be used free of charge to make domestic calls and international calls to China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, and the U.S.A. The Handy smart phone also has unlimited access to the internet and has apps for both maps and train times which makes it an invaluable tool for navigating Osaka.

Breakfast & Dining

This hotel has both a restaurant and a café. The first floor restaurant, Verde Cassa, serves a fusion of Italian and Japanese cuisines for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Breakfast is served between 7.00 and 10.00 with last entry at 9.30. This deluxe buffet breakfast features, healthy grilled vegetables; salads made with tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and dried fruits; pasta dishes made with udon noodles; delicious sweets; and a special low-calorie pizza called Vischio Pinsa which is made from rice and soya flour. Breakfast costs 2,160 yen for adults and 1,080 yen for children aged 6-12.

A variety of Halal breakfast bento boxes are also available for 2,800 yen per person.

Lunch is served between 11.30 and 14.30 with last entry at 14.00. The buffet lunch features pizza, deep fried kushikatsu style kebabs with dips, as well as pasta and delicatessen dishes. On weekdays the lunchtime buffet costs 1,080 yen for adults and 756 yen for children aged 6-12. On weekends and national holidays it costs 1,620 yen for adults and 1,080 yen for children.

Dinner is served between 17.30 and 21.30 with last orders at 21.00. A variety of Italian dishes and desserts can be ordered from the a la carte menu along with delicious wines and other beverages. However, dinner is not served on Sundays and national holidays.
Drip-X-Café is also located on the first floor and serves sandwiches, sweets, cold-press juices, alcoholic beverages, and drip coffee from freshly ground coffee beans every day between 7.30 and 22.00 with last orders at 21.30.

There is also a Family Mart convenience store a two minute walk from the hotel where guests can buy cheap snacks and drinks.

Other Services & Facilities

Staff at the 24 hour reception desk are friendly and cordial. Check-in time is from 15.00 and check-out time is by 11.00. Luggage storage is available at reception on the same day before checking in and after checking out.

Guests access their rooms using electronic card keys, which are also used to operate the elevators. This extra level of security should bring peace of mind to single travelers.

Free high-speed Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout the hotel.

A trouser press, iron and ironing board, and a reading lamp can be borrowed from reception.

Soft drinks vending machines and ice machines are available on the 3rd, 5th, and 7th floors.

All guest rooms, the lobby and the hotel restaurant are non-smoking. However, there are smoking booths on the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8th floors. There is also a smoking booth beside the restaurant. The smoking booths are completely closed off so as not to bother other guests.

This hotel has a self-service laundry with coin operated washing machines and dryers.

Eleven parking spaces are available at the hotel. Parking for hotel guests costs ¥2,000 per night between 15.00 and 11.00 the following day.

Location

Hotel Vischio Osaka is an 8 minute walk from the North Gate entrance to Osaka Station, and a 6 minute walk from Hankyu Umeda Station. Grand Front Osaka shopping complex is also just a 4 minute walk away.
