Hotel Monterey Grasmere Osaka is a luxury tourist hotel which features a concierge service, three elegant restaurants, and interior décor that is meant to resemble that of a British stately home. Hotel Monterey Grasmere Osaka has 348 guest rooms all of which are non-smoking. Guest rooms come with single, double, or twin beds all of which have high quality bedding to ensure a good night’s sleep. Deluxe twin rooms on the 24th floor are barrier-free and suitable for wheelchair users.
Each room is decorated and furnished in the style of a British manor house. Among the facilities are an air conditioner with a heating function, complimentary wired and wireless internet access, a TV, a writing desk, a stationary set with letter paper and envelopes, a laundry bag, an electric kettle, a telephone, a refrigerator, a wardrobe with hangers, a combined air purifier and humidifier with a plasma filter, an ionic hair dryer, slippers, and cotton pajamas.
Bathrooms are fitted with a bathtub and shower and are supplied with a full set of towels and complimentary amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, body soap, a sponge, shaving razors, hand and face soap, toothbrush sets, combs, and cotton buds. The toilet is fitted with an electric bidet.
All guest rooms are also supplied with a free “Handy” smart phone. The Handy has multilingual settings, unlimited access to the internet, and guests are free to use it throughout their stay both inside and outside of the hotel. This smart phone can also be used to make free domestic calls and free international calls to the following 6 countries: China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, and the U.S.A. The Handy is an invaluable tool for exploring Osaka as it has apps for both maps and train times.

Breakfast & Dining
A daily buffet breakfast is available in one of the hotel banquet rooms between 6.30 and 10.00 with last entry at 9.30. The buffet features a great variety of both Asian and Western style breakfast dishes and includes plenty of freshly baked bread, fresh fruit, and healthy vegetables. Among the Western breakfast dishes are sausages, scrambled eggs, bacon, French beef stew, and mini-hamburgers. Japanese dishes include chicken teriyaki, grilled fish, miso soup, rice porridge, and miso soup. Chinese items such as steamed shrimp dumplings, and Shanghai style fried noodles are also available. This all-you-can-eat buffet costs 2,700 yen per person.
This hotel also has three restaurants on the 22nd floor which include a French restaurant, a teppanyaki grill restaurant serving Kobe beef, and a refined Japanese restaurant serving seasonal dishes. All the restaurants are open for lunch and dinner. The French restaurant and the teppanyaki restaurant are both closed on Tuesdays, and the Japanese restaurant is closed on Wednesdays.
The Sanno Art Museum
The Sanno Art Museum is located on the 22nd floor of the hotel building. Inside are a variety of works including modern Western-style modern Japanese paintings, more traditional Japanese Nihonga paintings, and a fine collection of ceramics. The museum also hosts special exhibitions twice a year. The Sanno Art Museum is open from 11.00 – 17.00 (with last entry at 16.30) on weekdays and closed on weekends. The admission fee is 1,000 yen for adults and 500 yen for university students and younger children. Up to two junior high aged children or younger can enter the museum for free if accompanied by an adult.

The hotel reception desk is located on the 22nd floor and is staffed 24 hours a day. Check-in time is from 15.00 and check-out time is by 11.00.
This hotel has a concierge desk where English speaking staff will be happy to offer help and advice on sightseeing, restaurants, taxis, and flights.
The hotel has its own chapel which is meant to resemble a traditional English country church.
The following items can be borrowed from reception: nail clippers, an iron, a trouser press, cutlery and tableware, an ice pack, a sewing kit, a desk lamp, a corkscrew, a bottle opener, Mobile Phone Charger, extra blankets, and umbrellas. Wheelchairs can also be borrowed but must be reserved in advance.
Laptop computers can be rented from reception for 1,080 yen per night. The number of computers is limited so they are provided on a first-come first-served basis.
A baby’s cot can be rented for 1,080 per night, but must be reserved in advance.
There is parking on the 6th floor which has capacity for 80 vehicles and costs 1,500 yen per night.

Hotel Monterey Grasmere Osaka is very convenient for local transport. It is a 2 minute walk from JR Namba Station, 4 minutes from Osaka-Namba Station on the Kintetsu and Hanshin lines, 7 minutes from Namba Subway Station, and 8 minutes from Nankai Namba Station. OCAT bus terminal which has express bus services for Kansai International Airport is right beside the hotel and can be reached in 1 minute.
